RFP: Forest Economy Educational Connections
1.3 Purpose of the RFP
FOR/Maine is interested deepening existing place-based efforts to engage K-12 students, rural communities, and industry partners in developing educational connections to forest economy topics and subjects, with the goal of spurring interest among youth in a career in forest products in Maine. This work is related to implementing recommendations from FOR/Maine’s Workforce Strategy, developed by the Center for Business and Economic Research at the University of Southern Maine.
FOR/Maine is seeking to partner with an organization or coalition of organizations actively engaged in forest economy education to identify and improve existing resources, deepen industry, community and forest economy educational connections, support educators and learners, and convene advisors for ongoing coordination and oversight.
